Built a clubhouse for my son out of an old trampoline mat today...

I saved the 14' mat from our old trampoline when we took the trampoline apart.

14' in diameter, made of heavy nylon and it has stainless grommets every 10 inches. I figured it had to be good for something.

My youngest son was looking for a project today so I suggested that we go out in our woods and build a "fort".

Do kids still build forts or clubhouses????

See the black tarp?

He didn't really understand until I put the first lash up in the trees and then the light bulb went off in his head. We have a couple old hammocks from scuba trips in Mexico. I don't know if he was more excited or if I was more excited. It all came together......

I was a big LOST fan when the show was on the air. I kept thinking of sets from LOST when we were building the little shelter.

Big kid.....

Little kid.....

We're going to camp out there when the moon is full. My son wants to build and add more "fort stuff" now. What ever happened to forts and clubhouses?

Fun afternoon. Don't throw away those old trampoline mats!
