When I bought this curly maple (it has some birdseye here and there) for neck stock I had it planed a little over 13/16". Now I like a fat neck, and it is a 12-string, so for now I'm leaving it at 3/4 at the first fret and right at 13/16 at the 13th fret. Since I'm using mostly Tru-Oil on the neck it won't be much of a trick should I choose to thin it a little after I've played it and seen what it can stand. As it's a 25" scale I'm using 10-46s as the main strings and aim at tuning it to a normal 440 hertz range. At the end of the day it will still be thick, but I'm going to sneak up on it slowly . I ain't building no ricky here

Edit- BTW, those measurements were not including the fretboard
