Have a vintage tele and really there is no adjustment of any consequence.
Neck p/u is screwed into the body, can't move much and if the bridge is lowered it comes off the screws - so the only way to get any distance is to shim the neck and raise the saddles.
Guess that's the way Leo intended it - sounds fine with no intonation problems even though the pickups are a bit too close to the strings.
