The Fender amp models on the Mustang amps are way better than those on the G3, which is I guess what you would expect, as the Mustangs are a Fender product.
The Vox on the G3 is passable, but overall I haven't been too impressed with my new G3 so far - there are almost too many options and effects, and many of them seem harsh and ludicrously over-gained to my ears; out of the 100 or so 'out of the box' presets that were preloaded on the unit, I have deleted all but about a dozen.
I'm sure good tones can be found with work, and the value is hard to argue with, given that the G3 is also an audio interface and has drum patterns and a looper, but I'm not sure I have the patience to persist with it.
