I have both a ROSS and a Delta BOSS. The Boss is an oscillating spindle sander only, same diameter and length spindles as the ROSS, bit it does not have the belt feature. The BOSS is heavy-duty cast iron, runs smoother, and I like it for inside curves better than the ROSS. However, you cannot beat the sideways belt sander of the ROSS for smoothing outside curves on a guitar body. Even with the biggest spindle, it's pretty easy to sand a divot in the side of the guitar with that concentrated sanding point on the outside of a convex curve. No problem for the ROSS's horizontal belt. I use each for what it's best at, and was blessed to have received the BOSS as a gift years ago, and bought my ROSS in anticipation of this year's Challenge. The ROSS is perfectly fine for spindle sanding, nothing wrong with it, I just like the Delta BOSS better for that operation. You certainly could not reasonably justify buying both, when the ROSS will do a good job for both spindle and horizontal belt. And also the tilt table, which the BOSS does not have.
