i once let somebody try my guitar at GC, they strummed one chord and then began to flick switches and turn knobs trying to get it to sound like something else. Comparing things you have to remove as many variables as possible. You also don't want to do the "this one is bright" and then turn down the treble. Bright might just be the difference. ideally u would have 2 guitars set-up as identical as possible. Keep one unchanged as a control and do changes on the other. If you still hear no diff, then for you there is no diff. Get the cheapest and rock out.
