Yes, North Dakota has a booming oil field business, complete with man camps to live in as part of the job. There are also, as I hear it, lots of support jobs up there, restaurant work, retail jobs that would otherwise be filled are empty as more folks work in the oil field. According to the feds, unemployment in N.D. is 3% (lowest) compared to 11% in Calif. (Third highest). Nevada is highest at 12%, so Vegas might not be a good idea at this time.
