Phewph, it's been a while since I've popped in to say G'day.
I'm off work at the moment on stress-leave type arrangements (I've just come off the back of a couple of ~70 hour weeks so my doc wants me to stay home - 26 is too early for a heart attack). At the start of the week I figured I'd need something to occupy my time for the week.
In steps the Epi 1961 SG Special. For 400 bones, this thing is SWEET. I've looked at a few reviews of people slagging off the veneer - and I sort of agree, it gives it this sort of baby-poo yellow look, but other than that and a tiny tiny bit of an issue with the frets wanting to be hammered down another .05mm, I can't believe the value of this thing.
I had notions of replacing the stock pups with some Fralin p90s, but these Epi p90s sound pretty sweet in themselves, so I'm not sure yet whether I need to drop another bag of cash for better pickups or leave her as is.
Unfortunately while I was chopping vegetables last night I sliced the skin off the tips of my index and middle fingers on my left hand, so playing at the moment is a bit tender and often results in me stopping and sucking in air like I've been kicked in the nards when I slide over the fleshy bit of my finger, but I'll push through!
