broken pignose question, pluss micro cube.

hi, guys. i really did not want to start this thread but if it saves me 20.00. then i will take the heat if its out of line. or been talked to death and i could not find the thread in my search.

short story.

pignose amp 1997 7-100 six double a's or a 9v adapter.

now when the pignose amp got here it was said to be working when i bought it.
i have no reason not to believe this couple they seem honest, etc.

the pignose was packaged in a shoebox. unfortunately this ment the pignose on/off potentiometer was sorta poking up. im sure you can imagine putting the pignose amp in a shoe box lid tap it down and how if there was not enough room for it with the lid taped down it would peek in the center. then it was wrapped in brown paper. when i open the amp i put some new battery's in her, and got nothing. i have no wall wart for this amp. ( i want it 90 percent for battery use anyhow during the summer evenings out on the porch) anyhow, the person who sold it to me just told me to keep the amp, i ate the shipping. and return my money.. fair enough with me maybe it will work with wall wart then trouble shoot from there.

now the metal pignose knob. has some play ( maybe 1/2 inc to 1/4") in it before you hear/feel a click as it wold turn on. im not sure if that was done in shipping or not. i have done nothing yet, besides try different battery's.

so i figure my next course of action would be to try the wall wart to see if it worked. if it dose then im thinking maybe a lose wire or something on the battery side. if i get nothing, im thinking potentiometer?

now where dose the micro cube come in. could i use the power chord that came with it to test the amp to see if it would come on? or is it not compatible.

only infoi could find on either amps is as follow.

pignose 9v.
300mA 9v postive tip adapter ( true? found that info on the net. )

on the micro cube on the back of it says only use the roland/or boss PSAS.

and rolands webpage i got:

Connectors
INPUT Jack: 1/4" phone type
REC OUT/PHONES Jack: Stereo 1/4" phone type
AUX IN Jacks: Stereo 1/4" phone type, Stereo miniature phone type
AC Adaptor Jack
Power Supply
DC 9 V: AC Adaptor or Dry Battery (LR6 (AA) type) x 6
Current Draw
185 mA

im guessing they are not compatible. from the 185ma compared to the pignose 300 mA

anyhow i have a doctors appointment tomorrow. so figured i would stop by and pick up a wall wart also assuming store near by ( country club/Broadway for the locals, means nothing to anyone else im sure.), assuming they have one of course.
i want the pignose amp. so even if i have to buy the wall wart, it will just go inside one be it if i have to buy a new one.

anyone have any thoughts on what common problems these little piggies have? thank you.

when its a 115F you be surprise how nice it is to sit out side in the evening when the temp drops to the 80Fs. hence, the reason for the battery's.

and of course a back up for my up and coming micro cube transplant.

hope this post is not out of line. as its my first, normally i do not like starting them. but in this case i thought if i get flamed so be it. ill learn something either way. im def not the sharpest tool in the shed.
chris.,
