The JD is "too mellow" but go for the Broadcaster?? That makes no sense. I've owned both, and the JD is WAY meatier. Look at Duncan's own tone charts. They rate the Broadcaster a 3 out of 10 for bass. Yes, the Broadcaster can snarl when pushed, but it is a very thin pickup on the low end.
The JD does it all.
