What if someone buys a vintage guitar ......... must they declare that they didn't put the wear on it themselves whilst on the road ?

As I said , I hate sticky new guitars - I like to feel the wood not lacquer - I must be dishonest - or a player who knows what he likes.
I suppose that makes sense if you like the worn feel. But I reckon there are a fair few people who buy a brand new "roadworn" because they want to give the impression that they've gigged that thing around the world for 20 years. That strikes me as dishonest.

You could argue the opposite in many ways. But that's what I think.
