I've written and can play live about two hours of my mostly western songs, recorded ZERO. They'll probably go with me. Fingerpickiing, I started on Dylan, Guthrie and Leadbelly and found Doc Watson along the way. I am a clear 2 1/2 finger picker but rarely go towards bluegrass... never got to 3. Try futily to improve on leads, rhythym is ok for my own stuff.
Blaze Foley is my hero.
Course, if you don't care for Western songs like Lefty Frizzell and Marty Robbins and Roy O. about love lost and the such, then I'm back to a weak 2 on all of it.
