I've had similar experiences, no doubt. It is oft said one gets what what one pays for. I wasn't implying one should buy the £5 pickguard, I just thought it was too funny that the OP specifically used the figure of £5 as the pricepoint they thought a pickguard should be
I think the between £10 - £15 mark is what you're going to end up paying for something that will also be of sufficient quality...
