That's a really stunning guitar. You did a great job on the finish - is it nitro?
I'm still a bit in two minds about which type of guitar I should make with the alder/maple and the mahogany/maple.
Intuitively I think mahogany/maple would be better with humbuckers like Lollar Regals - just because the combination of wood and humbuckers is sort of a bit like the Gibson ES 335. I think I read somewhere that's what Fender had in mind when they brought out the 72 Thinline. However it's sort of ironic that the mahogany Thinlines were mostly 69 Thinlines with single coils and the 72's were mostly Ash I believe.
So I was thinking maybe make the Mahogany/maple one sound warm with humbuckers and not to bother with the twang factor and let the Alder/maple one I'm building be the Twang monster - maybe just get some Fender CS Nocasters for it... The Van Zandts did sound cool - I listened to them on Youtube. The coin for the Lollar Regals sort of made me want to cheapen out a bit on the single coil build.
I don't know... still having trouble deciding which way to jump with it.
