I'm not gonna be able to be a huge help here but you seem to have a grounding issue with the wiring. A few pics may be helpful to some. Do you have it grounded under the bridge? As far as your high E string it sounds more like it is binding at the nut. A quick easy fix is to put quite a bit of pressure with your fingers on the string behind the nut. That may or may not fix it. It depends on how bad the problem is. Try doing that a few times. It has worked for me in the past. I hope you can get some guys with a bit more experience than myself to chime in. :) as I'm sure you know there are a lot of people here with a wealth of knowledge!
