My parents were supportive but did sometimes tell me to turn it down. I once had a cracked window in my bedroom right above where my amp sat. Ooops. The sad/funny thing is that I have two youngens at home and just last night my wife steps into my music room on behalf of my teenage daughter to ask me to turn it down. I never play loud in the house. If the kids can even hear it, it's too loud. There seems to be no hope for my daughter but my son is starting to pick up the guitar.
