Oh hail

Woke up this morning(4:30) to the sound of thunder. I had already been through two bad hail storms in as many days. The last one only 12 hours earlier. 15 minutes later all hell broke loose, this was the worse so far. I don't remember any rain, only dime to quarter size hail coming down like a thunderstorm.

After the sun came up was when it really hit me. All the blooms and leaves that had come out on our trees were stripped from their branch's. I hope my apple trees survive, time will tell. The roof is leaking through the ceiling in 5 rooms. The ice is almost 2 inches thick on a bench by the house. The roof is mostly covered with ice, but what is showing isn't pretty.

It's made me think about all the others that have been victims of bad weather. I've been walking in circles all morning trying to figure out what's next. I can only imagine how it would feel if your house or whole town was destroyed in an instant. It's funny, I grew up in Florida and have been through several hurricanes, they didn't affect me like this.

The good news, all of my family is safe and we have a (leaky) roof over our heads. I heard the cat howling during the storm, but could not get to him. No sign of him yet. No loss of guitars and such. Funny how unimportant that seems ATM. No news coverage of this event yet, so I have no idea if anyone was hurt. I'm rambling, I just needed to put all of this down. The insurance office opens tommorrow, I'll go from there.
