I was doing a web search for Fender Frontline magazine and Google returned this result first: Fender Frontline magazine Winter 1993 (

Having admired David Gilmour's guitar playing for a number of years, I enjoyed the interview describing how he learned to play the guitar.
In answer to a question concerning whether he considered "imparting his fretboard prowess in written form, he answers: "No I don't, because I can sum up everything about playing the guitar in about two sentences." And they are? "Play what you feel. And ignore everything else!"
I probably need to ignore everything else in order to learn how to play better... then I'll try to play what I feel!
