Leonard, I can't see the FEnder diagram, but I will take sjtalon's word for it that that is the diagram that you want to use. I have never seen a switch that uses the STew-Mac ararngement. The old and new Switchcraft switch and the Oaks-grigsby switch wire up identically to each other.
So, if you have a STew-Mac switch, use their diagram. IF you have a switchcraft or Oaks-Grigsby, use the time honored diagram that FEnder started using in 1968.
I found this on the 'net. This is how one should wire a SWitchcraft or Oaks-Grigsby switch. IF you do volume swells with the guitar's volume control, do not install the .001 mfd cap across the volume pots lugs.

As to explaining why Stew-Mac would muddy the waters with a different switch....who knows???? PRobably made in Asia???
