I had two stolen and got one back by posting details up on music shop noticeboards. Some chap bought one from a pawnshop and then saw my notice. He very kindly called the police.
Unfortunately, the one I got back was one I wanted to sell anyway and the insurance co. were all set to give me a very nice cheque for it - double what I could have got by selling it. Swings and roundabouts...
