Why? This is why we have a feedback system. So the next buyer knows what he is getting into. If someone has 21 feedback and 10 negative, then I know something is up. But if everyone did what you say, I would never know!
Also, about the car purchase. Car sales on ebay ARE NOT binding contracts like items are. I had a huge issue once with a guitar sale on ebay and I had a lawyer to take care of everything. But a lot of cases where ebay contract/bidding was not legally enforced were w cars.
