Just took delivery of a Custom Shop 54 Esquire (dealer select w/ 9.5" radius & medium jumbo frets) and I would like to add a neck pup. After doing some research I have decided to go with a Twisted Tele pup (made in America - it has the white wire instead of green).

My concern is whether I will need to route the neck position deeper in order for the Twisted Tele pup to fit properly which is not something I want to do to a Custom Shop.

Does anyone have experience in these matters? If the neck position does indeed need to be deppened perhaps a recommendation on another neck pup which wouldn't require a mod. Again I am looking for something with balls that will fit right in with the classic rock that I play.
