Yeah, some tool @ Fender decided to put a Taper on the Vol control where is does most of it's work all of a sudden as I said already regarding this] in the HR series.
Probably so most folk would say, WOW I can even get this past 3... when 3 on a HRDv212 is really like 4-5+ with the correct POT taper for the application. The effects loop volume box gets you past that, as does a pedal tweaked the right way.
My only other complaint is the PI tube gets hammered being right behind one of the 12s. A good NOS tube there with some real glass and metal in the plates would keep you from recycling JJ every 3 weeks [my experience] if you play it loud with a lot of bottom, which it excels @ IMO.
I found with this amp in particular I was able to turn Tube Microphonic a lot faster than a lot of other amps, which is why I hate modern tubes FWIW.
