Good grief can anyone ask a question about an amp over 40 watts without the 22 watt society claiming the high ground?
"You don't need it, it's too heavy, you can''t get it up past 2 "
A specific question is being asked about the HR DEVILLE, why are we answering with the 22 watt answer? What gives ?
Here's the deal..you guys that love the 22 watt amps, GREAT ! They are great amps, no doubt...But have you checked the news, that's only ONE amp on the planet, rather than inject the 22 watt theory in every discussion, please consider that it's getting old..sorry.
Ok, the 60 watt HOT ROD Deville 2x12, I own one, used it for 10 years non stop, upgraded from the 40 watt HR Deluxe because it didn't have quality headroom for my purpose. I bought the 40 Watt HR Deluxe when they first came out and used one for a few years before I gave up on the headroom thing. The cure, the 60 watt HR Deville.
HR DEVILLE..2x12...IT"S A GREAT AMP ! at that price it's a no brainer....
For many of us that use a "bigger" amp, such as the 60 watt HR Deville or a Twin, it's not about volume, it's about clean headroom...If your playing style requires some clean playing at a good clip..get the HR Deville and don't look back.
I was recently asked , if I had to part with all of my amps, which would I keep...it would be a toss up between the 71 Twin and the Hot Rod Deville..

PS , I like my Pizza with Pepperoni, I'm sure someone will tell me to use Meatballs instead, Pepperoni is not good...
