I know that's one of the things that stuck out to me was how great it sounds unplugged. I just plugged it in to find the neck pickup does a great job of retaining that awesome quality it has unplugged and has a warm, almost acoustic quality through the neck. Can't comment on the bridge pup, the guy who had it before me put a hot rails in the bridge. ironic because I just sold a CV 50s with two hot rails today, the pickups being one of the reasons. Oh well, one out of two ain't bad and I'm going to sell it to fund the nocasters anyway.
