If we're talking Fender amps, the only solid wood used was pine which is far lighter than plywood and definitely lighter than particleboard. Just for reference, I have two silverface Princeton Reverbs, one has a pine cab and the other has a particleboard cab. The pine cab is 15.1lbs; the particleboard cab is 19.5lbs. That's quite a difference for an amp that small. For something the size of a Twin/Pro, it would probably be around 10lbs. In either case, that's more than noticeable.
