The Callaham bridge is nice, but I have to agree with bender-freak, that's a whole chunk of change for a dang bridge! Heck, you can buy a playable "whole guitar" for that!
Give the Am. Std. bridge a try first.
Looking at those pics of your hipshot bridge, it seems like the way the strings do the over and under thing on the saddles, it would apply enough down-force, no?
