I used a pair of sewing shears for the straight edges. I'm sure scissors would work just fine. For the curves, I used masking tape to hold my old pick guard and the lp together, then used a dremel tool to sand the vinyl down to shape. For the neck pu, I drilled a couple holes, then dremeled that too. Bit of hand sanding to take of the burs and it was done. Doesn't stand up to close inspection but it took me all of half an hour. I'm not to worried about. I can always make another one for a dollar and 30 mins. of time.
