I'm kinda bummed with this thread...lots of misinfo for the OP to wade though.

The jazz boxes I mentioned are ones I see in my jazz class or have seen players, both students and instructors, use at gigs. My experience in jazz guitar outside of the class, or pretty much the common likes of Gibson/Ibanez/Yamaha/Godin are what I have seen and also at the local clubs in a jazz setting. But I am a rock player but still for the most part what I have seen are Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, ESP, Yamaha, Jackson, Rickenbacker, Gretsch, and a few others even though there are hundreds of companies that make rock guitars. I tend to buy something I can play first and unfortunately not being in a big city and only somewhat close to a Guitar Center (which favors the major brands) I end up buying something they have, or that I can see in a smaller store (which are those same few, large brands) and it's really kind of a shame.
I have heard a lot of great stuff, from rock players, about Schecter and Reverend especially, but I have never seen them near me.
I don't know a lot about Eastman and Loar hollowbodies, but they look like great finds, especially since a lot of people on this thread seem to like them. I don't know about Peerless, but I am going to go check them out right now. :)
