As mentioned several times above, the 'muff' can have issues cutting through a band.
There's more than one reason for this that I'm not gonna get into here.
I've gone the boutique route for my EH fuzz tones.
This one's based on the classic Rams Head Muff ... http://www.macdaddymusicstore.com/se...es-Fuzz/Detail great tone and no prob with cut.

I use both and have for a few years now with no problems in a band setting.
