Acoustic Amp?
Hey guys! I just got my Martin OM-1 acoustic set up and I'm playing the snot out of it. I have a little Epiphone "Studio Acoustic" amp, which is decent. It sounds like my guitar, but a little louder. Not much, actually. If I turn it up so I can hear it over the sound of the guitar itself, it starts to distort.
I was wondering, what makes a good acoustic amp? Can I just get a cheap used Peavey amp and throw an Eminence acoustic speaker in it? When I play the guitar at church, I just run it into the snake with a direct box and it sounds fine. I'm looking for something that I can use for practicing at home, and possibly smaller venues without a PA system. Thanks!
