It is a TS-808 'clone' (aside from the bypass) made with good components and well screwed together. I found a guts shot of one a while back - they really do seem to have good components.
All other consideration aside - if you liked the TS808, you will be 'safe' with the Joyo.
And if, for some reason you are not happy, just sell it on - probably for close to what you paid for it.
I sold a Joyo on eBay for more than I had paid for it new.
I have the Joyo Crunch Distortion for my occasional very dirty needs.
Excellent pedal. Very, very much like an MI Audio Crunch Box .. 'surprisingly'... ;)
Also check out the Biyang 'Baby Boomer' OD - similar, but a little dearer (and three TS 'voices')

This is what I got a few months ago- love my little 'Mad Bomber' (
it's actually from the Biyang Baby Boom Series) Sounds good, looks good- green light too! Cheap, but sounds like a "TS" to me
