You should have only one browser window open -- this would include tabs -- when you log out or you are not removing your cookies completely.
I'm sorry, but I have no idea what the issue is on your computer that is causing your problem. If you learn what it is please report back so we can pass it on to others should anyone else ever have this issue again.
