Every time I see this kind of ad I hear a faint whirring sound. I believe that must be Leo Fender, spinning in his grave. He designed his instruments to be affordable - cheap, even - and this kind of elitist horsepuckey is completely antithetical to that vision.

I agree, just to make Leo happy, they should sell '50's and '60's Tele's for a few hundred.
