Unfortunately, Dale Watson wasn't the only one to link 70s rock with modern country in this thread, so your unqualified statement that making the link is "colossally dumb" could reasonably be applied to everyone who made the link. It just goes to show how careful one should be before making sweeping statements, particularly insulting ones.
