I have been looking at Japan Fenders for a while, and am thinking about selling my MIA tele, to get a Fender Japan '52 tele with the humbucker (like Keef).

I know that they make some damn fine guitars, but why is there such a color difference between the following 2 guitars, when it is the same model?

that guitar runs about $450, plus $125 to ship it to the US. By the time I change out the pups on it, I would be about even in the spending department, maybe even save a little (the more the mairrer with the wife!!)

Any ideas?

Any one know which pic is more acurate?
