[Crawfish]

Hi all -

I'm working on an old Gretsch ukulele. The neck came off at some point and the fingerboard 'extension' (really just a piece of ebony) was reglued to the top of the uke. Long story short, I'm reattaching the neck, but I want to remove the extension first to put it back onto the end of the fingerboard.

It was glued on somewhat sloppily with who-knows-what glue. I'm thinking I can free it up with a clothes iron on top of a damp rag. Will this work? Any other ideas would be appreciated.
