Just headphones for the drummer can cure a lot of problems. He usually has the hardest time hearing what is going on and is most important to staying in time. I have found tightening up the band to be useful. Most bands tend to spread out, but a tip from old timers was band stayed close, even sang in the same microphone, so they could hear each others harmony.
