Is my hot rails pickup messed up?

Hi,

I got a hot rails pickup to put in my telecaster for my birthday but when i was putting it through the plate the the bridge pickup on teles goes through, i found it didn't fit. So i decided (very stupidly) to jsut force it through. Well it went through but the fabric tape that came on the pickup was pulled down a bit on the edges and some of the wire may have been exposed. I quickly found a remedy to this problem - electrical tape! But a about a week later i decided i jsut had to mess around with the new pick up and pulled some of the tape off... dump, i know. I think i may have mess up the coils of wire that make pickups into electromagnets and this really worries me; not because i couldn't replace it if it was broken but because i would have messed up a birthday present! I have tested the resistance of the pickups on the guitar and they are as follows:

(meter is set to 20K Ω)
standard telecaster neck pickup: ~8.05
hot rails telecaster neck pickup (when coil tapped): ~7.00
hot rails telecaster neck pickup (humbucker): ~14.50

If i could get some opinions or things i could do to tell if ive messed anything up that'd be greatly appreciated. I dont like not knowing if ive done something to affect sound or output of the pickup and i love my tele and want it to sound as badass as possible.

Thanks,
Mex
