If it's any consolation (which it probably isn't) I'm a lefty who plays righty and I feel my right hand holds me back. I never seem to has enough coordination as I would like for picking and strumming.
If you can afford it I would suggest take some lessons from a good teacher.
I've never used this product but it is cheap enough to give it a try.
