Owe another thanks to the TDPRI!

A month or so ago, I purchased a pedal steel from a TDPRIer. For the past month I have been trying to figure out what it's all about since this is my first steel.

I tell you, this is a frustrating instrument to say the least... but I digress...

One of my areas of frustration is the tuning... I learned all about the tempered tuning first, from an article from here... The idea that certain strings were 8 to 10 cents sharp or flat is/was mind boggling... Well, I had no idea how to get this done since I am using the boss tu2..

Then I had an idea... the TDP has those wave files for tuning... so I jumped on and downloaded 4 of the sound files... Then, I used my sound file editor which has the ability to take sounds and raise them or lower them by whole tones, half tones, and even 100ths of a tone! So, I found the steel tuning chart with the appropriate cents lowered, raised and went to work...

It worked as I now I have 10 sound files that are at the appropirate pitch to tune the steel... at least I have something until the new tuner arrives... It certainly beat having to record all the notes myself...

Again.. I am amazed at the wealth of info to be had from this website... Thanks to Paul and everyone...
