I agree, this is a great race, great athletes, all of them. Go Lance! I also enjoy seeing the little villages and towns the riders pass through, makes me and the wife want to take a vacation in France. I've been to Paris twice, but never out in the countryside. I've seen the Alps from Austria, Germany and Switzerland, but not France. Such a nice looking area. I wanna go!
The crowd along side the road look to be a bit of a problem, they sort of get in the way of the riders, push them, etc. IMO they should curb their enthuisasm a bit.
I'm glad we all here agree on this subject. However, I was reading a message board on the TdF over on AOL, and the tone was not so pleasant. There were a lot of people poo-pooing bike racing, calling it a sissy sport for liberals and the French. They liked football and NASCAR. They were also slamming Lance as a deadbeat dad. I can't believe how mean spirited and narrow minded some of my fellow Americans are. It's a shame.
