Ageing a Neck

I know this must have been talked about in the past but I really could not find a recent post. I love the look of a aged maple neck. On my new MIM Standard Tele (witch is slowly becoming my favorite guitar) it has a blistering white maple neck. Is there anything I can do naturally to get that aged look? I am not a big fan rubbing a varnish or a stain on it... I don’t want to change the feel of the neck it the slight way. I heard leaving it in the sun works. Is that true? Thanks for the help.
