Yeah, found that, but in my ignorance, I have no idea what each one actually is/does best ... I just try 'em all and see what sounds best with the track. You being a compressor-minded guy, it's probably a less trial-and-error process, no?

I fired up the vocoder the other day ... read a tip by Craig Anderton about how you could get a creepy Pink Floyd-type vocal sound using the voice as the modulator, which I think means off the side-chain, and using pink noise as the carrier, then blending with the dry vocal track. I got the voice triggering the EVOC, but couldn't figure out how to get pink noise into the equation. Got some interesting effects, although not quite what I wanted, so guess I need to dig a little deeper in the well.
