Just picked up a Kustom 5H head.... Woah this thing rocks! Hooked it up to a 10" Jensen MOD speaker cab and it seems quite enough for band practice for a 3 piece rock set. For apartment room practice gotta turn the volume knob down on the guitar which means no tube distorting..will need a distortion pedal for practice. But for recording and a general amp this has as good a sound as I have ever heard. This sort of amp played at max volume is the sort of sound heard on Claptons Blues Breakers recordings. Could run a pair of 10's or 12's or a 4x12 cab. I think it perhaps perfect for a rock/blues guitar amp. Crazy that these things are so loud with a 5 watt set up. I bought it so to get back to tubes with a practice amp. Well, I didn't mean band practice! Funny that it sounds better WITHOUT the tone stack! No loss I guess.
