Hi everybody! I've been enjoying the various hidden-pickup threads and wanted to put my own little spin on it. My tele is about as structurally sound as a fluorescent bulb due to the body's "wrong-way" grain,
so I'm leery of removing a lot of wood near the neck to hide a p-90 or a humbucker.
The question, then, is whether there's any pup that will fit in the existing neck pickup hole (approx 11mm deep) and have enough power to do the job, or will I have to ask Lindy to wind me something? (I have a Duncan Broadcaster in the bridge, set really close, like Santana-close, because it sounds good that way...so this theoretical neck pick has its work cut out for it, being a good half-inch or so away from the strings.)
Any ideas would be humbly appreciated.
