RC was on the Tonight Show once in the 70's,and was being backed up by the show's band.He started the deadly-slow "Drown In My Own Tears" and when the drums came in,he cocked his head toward Ed Shaunessy and told him,"Slow down,baby." He didn't care if he was on TV,he wasn't gonna sing the song a hair faster than it was supposed to go.
