Wiring a strat Pickup?
Did some searches of this forum, not sure exactly what I should search for.
I have a spare Strat pickup off a Nashville Tele. I replaced that position with a SD humbucker. I looked at the pickup, and there are only two wires...it's after midnight, and I just got it into my head that: I have a soldering iron, and if there are only TWO wires...maybe I could do this myself?
The magnets are staggered, except one magnet sits flush? Can magnets be moved? or is it supposed to be like that?
Are there instructions anywhere for taking off a rhythm/neck tele pickup and installing a strat pickup... for the electrically challenged? All I know is there is a Red wire and a Yellow wire. The bottom (or is it top) of the pickup there is a "triangle" that the wires come off.
Knowing only that.... and nothing else about wiring, am I just better off taking the Squier to a shop and paying the 15 bucks? As soon as I post this, I'll be searching the internet. Thought I'd post this question incase someone knew of some directions off hand. Thanks.
