I have owned both sets, and like the 48's better. The 60's was a bit too thin in the midrange for me. But some equate the less midrange sound with twang, which is fair.

Interesting. I purchased the '48 set, but the Mark II version that he still doesn't have listed on the site. I don't think that the bridge pickup has enough Tele Twang to it. This is my first Tele, but I think the '48 set bridge is very mid-rangy. Maybe I am just looking for a different sound. I completely love the middle position, and the neck is very good too. It's just the bridge pickup that I am not too happy with. I was considering getting the bridge from the '60s set.
Now I'm not sure again.
