Sure.
You have to make sure that body is sanded with at least 360 grit paper. I use piece of cork for sanding. Wood is too hard, cork is softer and it presses the paper surface equally.
It's also important to have good spraying equipment. Buying expencive spraying gun isn't waste of money. I bought new sata spraying gun this year and it's great. I do everything with it, finishing and sunbursting.
Sanding between two coates is just like sanding the wood, but with finer paper. Before last coat I use 800 grit, and then very thin coat. One more sanding before polishing with 1000 and 2500 grit paper.
